Due to dense fog, Northern Railways lowers train speeds and keeps an eye on the tracks to ensure safe operation

Due to reduced visibility brought on by fog throughout the winter, the Northern Railways lowered the speed of many trains for safe rail operations, which resulted in several long-distance trains in northern India running late.

Hazur Sahib Nanded-Amritsar Sachkhand Express, Banaras-New Delhi Superfast Express, Ranchi-New Delhi Garib Rath Express, Mahakaushal Express, and Kalinga Utkal Express are a few of the trains that are running late.

In order to guarantee safe train operating in fog throughout the winter, the Northern Railway has instructed all officers to step up safety line monitoring. According to General Manager Shobhan Chaudhuri, Railways always prioritizes passenger safety and takes all necessary precautions to avoid mishaps on the tracks and in the yard.

The authorities have examined the winter preparations for fog season and given the officers strict instructions to keep an eye on the tracks in order to spot any welds or fractures in the rails. They have requested that they replace all warning boards with reflective paint and provide fog signal detonators everywhere.

Additionally, General Manager Shobhan Chaudhuri emphasized the need to reduce human error in railway operations and to provide personnel counseling when needed.
