Hosabettu peacock electrocuted

Mangaluru: On Friday, a peacock in Hosabettu was electrified and killed. Tauseef Ahmed, an animal rescuer, said, “I arrived at the location in 20 minutes after receiving the distress message.” Nevertheless, despite our best efforts, the bird passed away after 15 to 20 minutes.

The bird was given to the Department of Forests. He said that they’ve been getting a lot of crisis calls lately.

Peacocks are pushed into the city because of mushrooming patterns on the edges of the city, which is causing habitat degradation quickly.

A porcupine had just quilled a stray dog that he had saved. “Within the city limits, we are receiving multiple injured mongooses, civets, and other animals for rescue,” Tauseef said.
