IMD predicts mild to moderate rainfall in Kerala until March 23, which might result in a drop in temperature

The state’s dry period is expected to end on Saturday, according to the IMD’s prediction of light to moderate rainfall. According to the prediction, rain is expected to fall on Thursday in all districts except Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, and Kottayam, and on Friday it is expected to pour throughout the whole state.

Although the prediction on Wednesday indicates that hot and muggy conditions are quite likely to dominate throughout Kerala for the next five days, the widespread rainfall is predicted to lower the maximum temperature. Additionally, the meteorologists issued a warning that the rainfall would only be concentrated in certain areas. Rainfall has been falling in several areas. According to some meteorological forecasts, there may be more of these spots and there is a good likelihood of widespread rainfall, according to meteorologist Rajeevan Erikkulam of the Kerala State Disaster Management Authority.

Five regions in the state have not received any rain since March 1, which is a poor start to the summer rainy season.

The areas most severely impacted are in the north.

Weather scientists claim that El Nino, a climatic phenomena that raises sea surface temperatures in the Pacific Ocean, is to blame for the delay in the arrival of rain.

Since the El Nino impact is expected to moderate in the following days, they are still optimistic about receiving more rainfall in April, according to international meteorological authorities.

Pervasive rainfall

According to the prediction, Thursday would see rain in every district save Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, and Kottayam.

Friday is probably going to be a very rainy day across the state.

Additionally, the meteorologists warned that the rainfall would only be in select areas.
