Inspections at the interstate border to reduce the supply of illegal alcohol

The Bathinda district’s civil and police administration has stepped up attempts to stop the flow of illegal liquor from other states and alcohol-related businesses, such as ethanol facilities, as the district’s Lok Sabha elections of 2024 draw near.

SSP Deepak Pareek and Deputy Commissioner Jaspreet Singh made an unexpected visit to BCL Industries (Limited) in Sangat Kalan village. Examining the ethanol unit, bottling plant, warehouse, CCTV monitoring, raw material units, and industrial holograms was the main goal of the tour.

The Deputy Commissioner thoroughly inspected the ethanol tankers at BCL Industries during the inspection to verify conformity with standards and look for any possible misbehavior.

In addition, a detailed inspection of the bottling factory was conducted, and samples were taken and confirmed to comply with regulations. A thorough evaluation of industrial holograms was also included in the test, and all of them were determined to be genuine and compliant with the established standards.

The DC said that a close eye is maintained on the interstate boundary with Haryana. Excise and police checks will be present on all main and connecting highways.

In a meeting with the Sirsa DC, the Bathinda DC requested information on the quantity of liquor stores located on the other side of the interstate border, and they requested that the administration maintain a close eye on the transportation of alcohol along interstate routes.

The Deputy Commissioner further said that after the model code of conduct was put into effect and illegal booze was recovered, excise, police, and FST teams have been engaged. The crews have taken in 2,136.35 liters of illegal alcohol thus far.
