International Yoga Day: NDMC Will Host Events At 8 Notable Locations in Delhi

On Wednesday, International Yoga Day, the New Delhi Municipal Council will host yoga sessions at eight well-known locales, including Kartavya Path, according to authorities. The civic organisation said that all preparations are complete and that the festivities would begin at 5 am.

“The NDMC will celebrate this year’s International Day of Yoga at eight locations in its jurisdiction, including Nehru Park, Lodhi Garden, Talkatora Garden, Kartavya Path, New Moti Bagh-IAS Residences area, Sanjay Jheel, Singapore Park, and Central Park-Connaught Place,” said NDMC Vice Chairman Satish Upadhyay.

At Kartavya Path, which was renovated and given a new name last year, yoga day will be commemorated for the first time this year. Yoga demonstrations will be held everywhere. There will be massive LED displays everywhere showing a recorded message from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, he added.

Organisations like Art of Living, Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Gayatri Parivar, Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, Isha Yoga Centre, The Yoga Institute, Akhil Bhartiya Yoga Shikshak Mahasangh, and Bhartiya Yog Sanstha are working together to host the activities.

Upadhyay said, “We have made sure that sufficient provisions are made for the activities, including the availability of drinking water and portable restrooms. The vice-chairman remarked that since we expect a sizable number of attendees, suitable parking arrangements have been prepared at four locations: Lodhi Garden, Nehru Park, Talkatora Garden, and Kartavya Path.

At all eight sites, he said, “our horticulture department has taken the necessary measures for maintenance of parks, lawns, pruning of trees and hedges.” According to Upadhyay, all the locations have been decorated with lovely floral arrangements, flower pots, and vibrant flags.
