Kiren Rijiju views Rahul Gandhi’s journey as his 19th endeavor to establish his presence

In New Delhi, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju admonished Rahul Gandhi on Thursday to desist from pursuits that exceed his capacities. Rijiju asserted that Congress consistently faltered in propelling Gandhi’s political career, with his ongoing Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra marking the 19th futile attempt. Speaking in a video interview with PTI, Rijiju conveyed that if faced with comparable setbacks as the scion of the Gandhi family, he would refrain from squandering the valuable time of his party and colleagues in endeavors beyond realization.

The Minister of Earth Sciences further contended that the depth of Gandhi’s animosity towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi “defies quantification” and extends to disdain for Hindu culture. Representing Arunachal Pradesh in the Lok Sabha for three terms, Rijiju asserted that the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra represents yet another fruitless attempt to elevate Gandhi’s stature, emphasizing the futility of persisting with such endeavors.

“In other realms, one does not receive numerous opportunities for elevation. Gandhi has now been thrust into the limelight 19 times. How long shall we continue to promote a single individual?” queried Rijiju, a seasoned politician with varied portfolios including Home Affairs (Minister of State), Minority Affairs, Sports and Youth Affairs, Law, and presently, Earth Sciences.

“Typically, if I were to fail in guiding my party, neither would the party persist in promoting me nor would I endeavor to squander the precious time of my colleagues,” he remarked.

“This principle applies reciprocally. Parties should refrain from pursuing the unattainable, and individuals should recognize their limitations,” asserted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, citing precedents of British politicians gracefully withdrawing from public life following unsuccessful endeavors.

Rijiju accused Gandhi of harboring deep-seated animosity towards Modi, unleashing vitriol at every opportunity. Addressing Gandhi’s remarks on the Ram temple in Ayodhya, the Union Minister accused him of harboring antipathy towards Hindu culture.

“He harbors antipathy towards Hinduism or Hindutva. He and his party have asserted before the Supreme Court that Ram was merely a mythical figure. Their ideological stance is well-established. Thus, his statements emanate from a deep-seated animosity towards Hindu culture,” he asserted in response to Gandhi’s allegations regarding the politicization of the Ram temple issue.

Rijiju alleged that Gandhi, “abetted by anti-India elements,” tarnishes India’s reputation abroad and castigates the nation’s culture and constitutional authorities.

“He vilifies Prime Minister Modi and Indian culture. Whenever he ventures overseas, sponsored by these anti-India factions, he launches diatribes against India’s cultural ethos, constitutional institutions, and authorities,” the minister remarked.

“Gandhi seeks to tarnish India’s image. His vehement animosity towards Modiji is palpable. His daily diatribes are filled with animosity. I have never witnessed such deep-seated enmity towards another individual as that harbored by Rahul Gandhi towards Modiji. The extent of his antipathy cannot be encapsulated in mere words,” declared the Union Minister.

Rijiju extolled Modi’s humble origins and ascent to global prominence, expressing pride in having the “preeminent democratically elected leader worldwide.”

“What source of pride could be greater for any Indian? Yet, despite this, these individuals seek to assail Modiji,” he concluded.
