Lok Sabha Elections 2024: BJP To Conduct Core Group Meetings With Several States Today, With A Discussion In Odisha

On Monday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) convened core committee meetings at the party headquarters to discuss possible candidates for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections in different states. Among the states mentioned at the conference were Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Haryana, Odisha, Sikkim, Maharashtra, and Gujarat. JP Nadda, the national president of the BJP, presided over the meeting. Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, and BL Santosh, the party’s national general secretary, were also present.

The debate started in Uttar Pradesh as the first state. Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, attended the conference. There were also presentations from BJP Uttar Pradesh president Bhupendra Chaudhary and deputy chief ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brijesh Pathak. Reports from sources were cited by news agency ANI, which said that 25 Lok Sabha seats were discussed. Apna Dal, a National Democratic Alliance (NDA) ally, is said to be receiving two contestable seats: one from Mirzapur and one from Sonbhadra. General VK Singh, the MP for Ghaziabad, may run for office again in his constituency, but the BJP may withdraw its candidate for the Barabanki seat.

A conference was arranged to strategize for the Haryana election during the second phase. Attending the meeting were Haryana’s newly appointed chief minister Nayab Saini and outgoing chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar. In the third phase, there was a discussion about electoral strategy for Rajasthan. In attendance at the meeting were State President CP Joshi, Chief Minister of Rajasthan Bhajan Lal Sharma, in-charge Arun Singh, and co-in-charge Vijaya Rahatkar. The purpose of the debate, as reported by ANI, was to choose the candidates for the ten Lok Sabha seats that Rajasthan still has open.

The core group meeting in the fourth phase was centered on West Bengal. Amitabh Chakraborty, Suvendu Adhikari, the leader of the opposition in the West Bengal Assembly, and state BJP president Sukanta Majumdar attended the meeting. The purpose of the debate was to choose candidates for the state’s remaining 23 Lok Sabha seats. Additionally, discussions were organized for Maharashtra, Odisha, and Sikkim. On Tuesday, the core committee will convene once again to discuss Odisha in-depth.

“The topic of election management was covered at today’s meeting. Tomorrow, there will be one more in-depth meeting. We spoke about different states today. Tomorrow, there will be a thorough conversation on Odisha, Samal said on Monday. Additionally, it is said that Wednesday is the day of the central election gathering.

The calendar for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections was released on Saturday by the Election Commission. From April 19 to June 1, there will be seven stages to the nationwide polls. On June 4, the vote counting process will come to an end.
