On the anniversary of Vajpayee’s passing, PM Modi said that “India greatly benefited from his leadership”

On the anniversary of his passing, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to former Prime Minister and BJP stalwart Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He said that the late leader was instrumental in advancing the country and bringing it into the twenty-first century in a variety of fields.

Using X, previously known as Twitter, Prime Minister Modi said that Vajpayee’s leadership has had a significant positive impact on the nation.

“I join the 140 billion Indians in honoring the outstanding Atal Ji on his Punya Tithi. India reaped enormous benefits under his leadership. In a variety of fields, he was crucial to advancing our country and bringing it into the twenty-first century.

 

Vajpayee, who was born in Gwalior in 1924, emerged as the first non-Congress prime minister to complete a full term in office and served as the BJP’s spokesperson for decades.

From May 16, 1996, to June 1, 1996, and again from March 19, 1998, until May 22, 2004, Vajpayee was India’s prime minister. In the administration of Prime Minister Moraji Desai, he also served as India’s Minister of External Affairs from 1977 to 1979. On August 16, 2018, he died away at the AIIMS Hospital in Delhi.

 

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that December 25 will be observed as Good Governance Day every year in honor of the previous prime minister and Bharat Ratna recipient after taking office in 2014.
