Punjab Congress’s first list is anticipated shortly

The Punjab screening committee, which was established by the AICC, will convene tomorrow to choose the final candidates before submitting the list to the national election committee for final clearance.

After April 10, the first list is anticipated. According to party staff input and internal discussions, there is a significant desire to run local candidates rather than foreigners.

LoP Partap Singh Bajwa and PPC head Amrinder Singh Raja Warring will also be present at the meeting.

According to sources, the first list would include candidates from Jalandhar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala, Gurdaspur, and Ferozepur. The second list would include the names of the candidates running for the remaining seats.

“Do not be surprised if the top guns in Punjab Congress — Sukhjinder Randhawa and Rana KP Singh—ccould be fielded,” a senior party leader said.

On Sunday, Partap Singh Bajwa, the Leader of Opposition (LoP), attacked the AAP administration for its flimsy assertions that it can generate enough electricity on its own.

“Due to a lack of power production in the state, the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited has requested authorization from the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission to impose power outages. Therefore, after the election in June, cutbacks would be implemented,” said Bajwa.
