Rahul Gandhi travels to Uttarakhand’s Kedarnath shrine

As he started his three-day tour to the Kedarnath shrine in Uttarakhand on Sunday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi paid his respects.

Congress employees and monks from the temple greeted him as he arrived in a private chopper.

“I went to Kedarnath Dham in Uttarakhand today, where I prayed and had a darshan. In a Facebook post, Gandhi published photos of himself visiting the Kedarnath shrine along with the words, “Har Har Mahadev.”

According to the Kedarnath temple administration, he took part in the evening “aarti” at the shrine and gave tea to the visitors as part of “chai sewa.”

Gandhi will be there for three days, according to sources. After spending the night at Kedarnath, he is probably going to take part in a “sewa” at the shrine.

The journey is a component of the longer Bharat Jodo Yatra led by the previous president of Congress. He had already performed “sewa” and visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar. Gandhi also participated in the Kailash Yatra.

Rahul Gandhi spoke at a polling place in Chhattisgarh on Saturday as part of his campaign trail for the five assembly elections.

One of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva in India, the Kedarnath temple is located 3,584 meters above sea level in Uttarakhand and is a component of the Char Dhams and Panch Kedar.
