Rahul wants the PM to comment on China’s “standard map”

Rahul Gandhi, a senior member of the Congress, sought a comment on China’s “standard map,” in which Beijing claimed Arunachal Pradesh and Aksai Chin, on Wednesday.

“I have been stating for years that the prime minister was lying when he declared that not a single inch of land had been lost in Ladakh. The whole Ladakh region is aware that China has broken the law. This map problem is a major one. The land has been taken away. The PM need to address the issue, according to Mr. Gandhi.

Arunachal Pradesh, which China claims is South Tibet, and Aksai Chin, which it conquered in the 1962 war, are shown on the 2023 edition of China’s “standard map,” prompting India to reject it and submit a strong complaint with Beijing.

Congress lawmaker Pawan Khera also criticized the government, charging that the PM had given China a “clean chit.”

Pralhad Joshi, the minister of state for parliamentary affairs, said that Mr. Gandhi puts more trust in what China says than in the staff of India’s foreign and defense ministries.

Speaking to a news organization, he attacked the Congress party and said that it lacked confidence in India and its institutions.

“I think Rahul Gandhi can’t understand that the Ministry of External Affairs has already rejected claims on what China did, the map they issued,” the union minister said.

“Whatever occurred—if China intruded onto our territory—took place under Jawaharlal Nehru’s presidency. He has no knowledge of the past. He so continues to make these claims. My condolences go out to Rahul Gandhi. He doesn’t believe the information that our MEA or Defense force personnel sent there, but he believes the Chinese map.

“The Nehru-Gandhi dynasty has always had greater faith in China. They are the ones with the issue because they have no faith in India, the Supreme Court, the Election Commission, the Defense personnel, or any other Indian institution. They only have faith in Pakistan or China. Their issue is that. How can we respond to that? said Joshi.
