Resort owner in Gurugram detained for allegedly “hosting” suspects in a document leak

A Gurugram farmhouse owner has been apprehended by a special task force (STF) from Meerut for his suspected participation in the UP Police document leak scandal.

The culprit, Satish Dhankar, a native of Manesar, owns a resort where the document that was leaked to more than 800 applicants was kept.

Dhankar allegedly said that he knew about the intentions for the document leak ahead of time and that he was going to be paid between Rs. 15 and Rs. 15 lakh for it. He said that after spending the night at his resort, the candidates were “shown” the document. Investigations revealed that he had joined the fraud at the urging of Vikram Pahal, the mysterious Delhi policeman.

“Dhankar has disclosed that he was well aware of the intended usage of his property. He was good friends with Pahal, and Pahal had encouraged him to leave his resort unoccupied as it was the ideal location for a paper leak. In an attempt to get quick money, Dhankar hopped aboard the wagon, according to Brijesh Kumar Singh, Additional SP (STF).

STF authorities said that on February 15, Pahal took over a thousand candidates to the resort. Exam questions were given to them, as shown in a video that was subsequently extensively shared on social media. Each applicant was charged Rs 500 by Dhankar on top of the total price.

Dhankar has been detained and is facing charges in accordance with the Public Examination Act and pertinent provisions of the IPC. 398 people have been detained so far in relation to the UP police constable document leak. The state administration canceled the test on February 24 after it was scheduled to take place offline across four sessions on February 17 and 18.

The STF was then assigned the responsibility of looking into the situation.

The Haryana Police, particularly in Gurugram and Nuh, have been tasked by the UP Police to monitor farmhouses, since these have become prime locations for these kinds of operations. Their NCR location combined with their lax security has made them a favorite for document leak gangs.

At a Tauru farmhouse, the Nuh police had just foiled an effort to leak medical test papers.
