Seven People Died in Rain-Related Incidents in the Last Day in Uttar Pradesh

According to a statement made here on Monday by the Uttar Pradesh Relief Commissioner, seven individuals died in rain-related accidents during the course of the previous 24 hours.

Five people drowned, two in Ghazipur, one in each of Etawah, Jalaun, and Kanpur Dehat, one in Kanpur Dehat from a snakebite, and one more died from “excessive rainfall,” the statement claims.

The irrigation department reports that the Ganga in Budaun and the Yamuna in Mathura have water levels over the danger limit. Floods in ten districts in Uttar Pradesh (UP) — Aligarh, GB Nagar, Bijnor, Farukhabad, Ghaziabad, Mathura, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, and Saharanpur — have impacted 38,378 people in 396 villages.
