Suneetha, the daughter of YS Vivekananda Reddy, her husband, and a CBI officer get AP HC relief

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officer Ram Singh, her husband N Rajasekhar Reddy, and YS Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter Narreddy Suneetha were relieved when the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Tuesday granted a four-week temporary stay on the proceedings that Pulivendula court had started against them.

Prior to Viveka’s death five years ago, Krishna Reddy served as her personal assistant. He filed a case in Pulivendula court, claiming that the three of them had tormented him emotionally and physically and had even threatened to kill him if he disobeyed their orders. Cases against them were booked in accordance with the court’s directives.

Suneetha and the others went to the High Court and requested a temporary halt to the proceedings in a quash petition.

While Additional Solicitor General B Narasimha Sharma contended that a private petition against the investigating officer is unmaintainable, petitioners’ attorney G Venkateswara Rao told the court that the magistrate had made instructions in an inert manner.

The police chargesheet was returned by the court, according to public prosecutor Y Nagireddy. He maintained that the court does not have to provide a justification for its rulings in a private petition. Senior counsel Pradhymna Kumar Reddy, representing Krishna Reddy, said that his client’s objections and complaints were sincere. He also questioned the trio’s petitions’ capacity to be maintained.

Judge K Srinivas Reddy postponed the case to April 29 and instructed the police agency to submit a counter with complete facts at the time of giving the ruling.
