The audio of Patnaik telling people that he has sent him to hear public complaints is played by the CM of Odisha’s private secretary

Naveen Patnaik, the chief minister of Odisha, informed the attendees of a public meeting in Barpali through audio message that they might address their complaints to V K Pandian, his private secretary.

The audio message from the CM was played at the public meeting on Monday in Barpali in the Bargarh district by Pandian, who is also the 5T Department secretary.

“Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik addressed the public over the phone and told them that he has sent Secretary (5T) and to give grievances to him,” according to an official statement from the CMO.

The CMO announcement said that despite heavy rains in Bargarh, a sizable number of people attended the public grievance meeting. It further stated that Pandian visited Saranda 5T High School in Attabira Block and spoke with the students and teachers present there discussing the 5T High School Transformation programme.

Aparajita Sarangi, a member of the BJP, had questioned the chief minister two days before about whether a secretary-level official had been permitted to attend public gatherings.

The 2000 batch IAS official was allegedly breaking the All India Service Rules by attending public gatherings, according to the opposition parties.

At Ananda Kalyan Mandap, Attabira, Ram Chandi Kalyan Mandap, Attabira, and Barapali Bargarh, the CM’s private secretary also spoke with members of the public and listened to their complaints.

Pandian expressed gratitude to the populace and noted that the chief minister has ordered the government to interact with them.

At a news conference on Monday in Bargarh, BJP MP for Bargarh Suresh Pujari said that “the functions and duties of constitutional posts like prime minister or chief minister could not be delegated to anyone.”

He said that while the bureaucracy was in charge of the state, politicians like MLAs, MPs, and ministers were effectively eliminated.

On Monday, Pandian travelled to the Bargarh district with the help of R Vineel Krishna, special secretary to the chief minister, Monisha Banerjee, SP Bargarh, Prahlad Sahai Meena, and district-level officials.

During his visit, Pandian said that the Bargarh cancer hospital will be finished by the end of the month of December and that the CM had authorised the inclusion of 56 colleges and upper secondary schools under the 5T Transformation programme at a cost of Rs 26.75 crore.

Additionally, he went to the Ramchandi and Vaishnodevi temples in Bargarh, as well as the Bisweswara and Maa Durga temples close to Attabira. While there, he spoke with members of the temple committee about the creation of a project report for the improvement of the temple and its amenities for visitors.
