7th Pay Commission News: The Center has updated six essential allowances for Central government employees following the recent DA hike. For central government personnel, the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has released guidelines regarding allowances.

Notably, employees of the Central government occasionally receive various allowances to cover costs associated with rising inflation, housing, transportation, healthcare, education, and travel, among other things. This is being provided in addition to the usual raise in DA.

allowance for children’s education (CEA)
According to a notice from the Center, government employees are eligible to apply for both the CEA and the hostel subsidy for the two older surviving children. The monthly payment for the CEA is Rs. 2250 for each child, while the monthly payment for the hostel subsidy is Rs. 6750.

The4 Center has also updated the CEA reimbursement for Divyang Children in accordance with the 7th CPC guidelines. It can now be claimed for up to Rs. 4,500 a month.

Permission for Risk
The Center also changed the risk allowance, which is given to workers who perform dangerous tasks or whose employment could negatively impact their health. It is no longer considered “Pay” for any reason.

Pay for Night Duty (NDA)
The Central government employees’ night duty allowance has been changed by the Center. According to the notice, it will now be defined as work completed between 22:00 and 6:00 hours, with a monthly basic salary cap of Rs 43600.

Allowance for Overtime (OTA)
The Center announced in the notification that it has updated the Over Time Allowance and that the ministry will compile a list of employees who fall into the “Operational Staff” category.

Special Compensation for Legislative Assistants
The Center announced in the announcement that persons who are fully occupied with work related to the Parliament would henceforth be eligible for higher rates of Special Allowance. The allowance has been increased from Rs 1500 and Rs 1200 to Rs 2250 and Rs 1800, a 50% increase.

Childcare Special Allowance for Women with Disabilities
The Center announced in the announcement that it has been decided to provide women with disabilities Rs 3000 per month in Special Allowance for childcare. The Center added that the child’s allowance would be given from the time of birth until the youngster turns two.
