Watch: “Babri” Slogans Raised On the Day of Ram Mandir Consecration at Jamia Millia Islamia

Ram Mandir Consecration: On the day of the Ram Mandir “Pran Pratishtha” event in Ayodhya, tensions erupted at Delhi’s Jamia Millia Islamia University on Monday after alleged films purporting to show pro-“Babri Masjid” chants being shouted on campus.

As a precaution, police were reportedly stationed outside the campus, according to officials, after footage that went viral on social media showing two or three students brandishing signs like “Strike for Babri.”

The deployment took place on the day when the Ayodhya Ram shrine dedicated its new idol of Ram Lalla. The temple was constructed at the location of the 16th-century Babri Masjid, which was destroyed in 1992 by a crazed group of people known as “karsevaks.”

According to a police official, “the deployment of police personnel outside (the university) is a precautionary measure,” and it was carried out in anticipation of Republic Day and the Ram temple consecration ceremony.

According to the official, a demonstration was reportedly planned inside the school. The official said that nothing occurred outdoors.

The management of Jamia Millia Islamia said that the “protest” had no effect on academic operations. It said that everything is in control.

Only two or three kids were involved in the sloganeering. Examinations and classes went on as usual, a university representative informed news agency PTI.

The police official said, “No one has been detained,” when asked whether two people had been taken into custody.

The “Pran Pratishtha” Ram Mandir
With much hoopla and excitement, the Ram Lalla idol was revealed at the Ayodhya Ram Mandir on Monday. Prime Minister Modi presided over the consecration ceremony, which took place in the big temple’s sanctum sanctorum.

The Prime Minister entered the temple grounds while wearing a crimson dupatta that had been folded and a silver “chattar,” or umbrella.

During the ceremonies, the chief minister Yogi Adityanath, governor of Uttar Pradesh Anandiben Patel, and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat were also present inside the sanctorum.

“Jai Sri Ram” was shouted by attendees and devotees during the event.
