Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar will tee off at the Women’s British Open in golf

Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar, two golfers from India, will compete in the AIG Women’s Open, the year’s last women’s Major, which begins on Thursday.

At the Evian Championship, the previous Major, Aditi made the cut, while Diksha didn’t.

Aditi will play at Walton Heath alongside the Italian Valentina Rossi and the Spanish Carlota Ciganda, leaving extremely early in the morning, whilst Diksha will tee off from the first tee with Celine Borge and Gina Kim.

Aditi will compete in her 27th Major, and her best finish to date was a T-22 at the 2018 Women’s Open, whereas Diksha has failed to make the cut in each of her three Major appearances.

While Diksha Dagar has won twice, once each in the Czech Ladies Open and Women’s South African Open, Aditi has won four times on the Ladies European Tour, including the maiden victory at the Women Indian Open back in 2016.

Aditi will be playing in her seventh Women’s Open match, while Diksha will be making her second appearance.

While the competition is being held in Walton Heath in Surrey, South African Ashleigh Buhai will return to defend her championship. Buhai went on to have an extraordinary year, winning the 2022 Women’s Australian Open, the 2023 South African Women’s Open, and the 2023 LPGA Classic after last year’s breakthrough success.

Stars like Celine Boutier, who just won the FREED GROUP Women’s Scottish Open and The Evian Championship back-to-back, are present in the field.

Nelly Korda, the top player in the world golf rankings, and Lydia Ko, a 19-time LPGA Tour champion, are also competing. Ten previous winners are also scheduled to start. All 10 of the Top-10 golfers in the world and 14 of the LPGA’s 15 2023 winners are in the field.
