After England secures a 2-2 draw against Belgium, Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham asks supporters ‘to keep perspective’

Jude Bellingham, an English midfielder, took aim at those who were critical of the national team after their Wednesday 2-2 draw with Belgium at Wembley.

In the dying moments of stoppage time, Bellingham intercepted a cut-back from James Maddison within the 18-yard box and struck the bottom-right corner to save England from losing at Wembley for the second time in a row.

After losing 1-0 to Brazil the previous weekend, Gareth Southgate’s team was unable to win either of the two international friendlies that preceded the 2024 European Championship.

After the game, Jude Bellingham was having none of it. Amidst a surge of criticism after the results of the two games, she urged the supporters to “keep perspective.”

“I enjoyed it as I am aware of the garbage we would have produced had we lost our next two games. Playing these games requires maintaining perspective. Many of the boys are making their stage debuts; I’ve never performed with many of these boys before, and I felt like we gave them enough opportunities. Jude Bellingham said to Channel 4 (reported by Goal), “I’m glad I could make it up to the team, but we should be winning with all the chances we made.”

“Two matches will help us a lot coming into the European Championship. You have to accept these games for what they are, even though I know everyone will have bad things to say about them. We’ll be OK, he said, if we take the good and learn from the bad.

Jude Bellingham also defended England manager Gareth Southgate, who was missing a number of regular players, such as Harry Kane, Jordan Henderson, and Bukayo Saka, and who also lost right-back Kyle Walker and John Stones to injuries in the middle of the Brazil and Belgium matches, respectively.

Jude Bellingham, who was recruited by Real Madrid in the summer of 2023, is having a fantastic season. In 31 games for Los Blancos, the 20-year-old sensation has 20 goals and 8 assists, shattering records and becoming something of a beacon at the Santiago Bernabeu.
