Amad Diallo’s Wise Reaction To Playing During Ramadan Fast: “I Am Fasting For God”

When asked whether he had to play without food during Ramadan, Manchester United midfielder Amad Diallo responded in a touching way.

Yesterday, in the FA Cup quarterfinals against Liverpool, Diallo had an important performance. In the last seconds of the game, the Ivorian scored the game-winning goal to guarantee the Red Devils a position in the semi-finals.

After the game, a reporter questioned him, amazed by his performance, saying, “I thought you played brilliantly when you came on.” How challenging is it for you to fast for the whole month of Ramadan, turn around, and then be up and down, up and down, while doing all of that?

“It’s not easy when you’re fasting, but you need to believe in yourself,” Diallo said. I am pleased to be fasting because I am fasting for God. A fan posted the exchange between the player and the journalist on X.

In the 121st minute of extra time versus Liverpool, Amad Diallo scored the game-winning goal. He entered the game as Manchester United’s replacement.

In the latter moments of the match, Diallo stole the ball from Harvey Elliott and put Garnacho up for the counterattack. The ball was subsequently sent to Diallo again, who paced the middle. He dribbled past Conor Bradley and fired low into the bottom far corner of the net, beating Liverpool goalkeeper Caiomhin Kelleher. In celebration of the goal, Diallo undressed. Diallo was dismissed after receiving his second yellow card of the game as a consequence of this.

In the tenth minute of the match, a finish by Scott McTominay gave Manchester United the lead at Old Trafford. After Alexis MacAllister scored Liverpool’s first goal of the match in the 44th minute, the team was allowed to continue. Just before halftime, Mohamed Salah scored a second goal for the Merseyside team.

There were many back-and-forth efforts on goal in the second half, and in the 87th minute, Antony was able to equalize for Manchester United. The match proceeded to extra time due to a score line of 2-2 between the two English titans. Harvey Elliott’s third goal of the game put Liverpool ahead for the second time, past Andre Onana. In the second half, Marcus Rashford saved the day for Manchester United with a goal in the 112th minute that tied the score at three points. In extra time, Amad Diallo scored the game-winning goal to send Manchester United over Liverpool.
