Before France’s match, Germany is relaxing

Less than three months remain before the start of the 2024 European Championship on home soil, but coach Julian Nagelsmann said that his squad does not feel under pressure. Germany is still far from tournament-ready.

Tomorrow, the Germans play a friendly against France, and three days later, they welcome the Dutch. After Hansi Flick was fired in September, Nagelsmann assumed the position. He has had a mixed start, going from winning and drawing on a tour to the US in October to losing two consecutive games in Austria and at home against Turkey in November.

“We may have had too many attack-minded players on the field in the last two games,” Nagelsmann said at a news conference today. “We trained well this week, and I have no doubt that we’ll do well tomorrow. Regarding the pressure problem, I must reiterate that these are external factors. It is not a matter of life or death with this false pressure.
