IPL 2024: 10 Uncapped Players to Keep an Eye on, From CSK’s Sameer Rizvi to RR’s Riyan Parag

With the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 on March 22, spectators will be enthralled by T20 cricket. The reigning champion Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore will square off in the season opener at Chepauk. With the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 rapidly approaching, Indian cricket players will be the center of attention as they fight to qualify. In this lucrative league, a few uncapped talents will also try to draw notice.

During the IPL 2024 players’ auction that took place in Dubai last year, some youthful talent was sold for very high prices. When the competition starts, the spectators will be excited to see them compete. Let’s take a look at ten uncapped players to keep an eye out for before the season takes place across various locations.

Chennai Super Kings player Sameer Rizvi

At the auction, Rizvi, an intriguing talent from Uttar Pradesh, won a contract for Rs 8.4 crore from CSK, the reigning champions. He was a member of the Ranji Trophy squad for UP lately. Even in the Colonel CK Nayudu Trophy, he demonstrated his skill with a few outstanding hits, a triple hundred against Saurashtra among them. The Meerut native Rizvi is often referred to as a “right-handed Suresh Raina.”

Hyderabad’s Sunrisers’ Abhishek Sharma

A dark horse in the SRH camp, Abhishek Sharma has solidified his position with some potent cameos and knockout strikes. With lots of runs scored since 2022, the Punjab all-rounder will be hoping for another fantastic season under the new skipper, Pat Cummins. Five hundred and fifty-two of his 893 IPL runs came in the past two seasons. In his cat, he also has nine wickets. He is still a promising talent to watch because of his performance in the SMAT 2023 (485 runs in 10 matches, 2 hundreds, and 3 fifties).

Kushagra, Kumar, Delhi Caps

After spending an astounding Rs 7.2 crore, the Delhi Capitals acquired wicketkeeper-batter Kumar Kushagra. The Jharkhand cricket player would be DC’s backup when Rishabh Pant returns from injury, having been cleared by the BCCI. Prior to playing for India A against the England Lions, Kushagra struck a century against Services in a Ranji Trophy match played in Delhi.

Arshin Kulkarni of the Super Giants of Lucknow

Kulkarni stole the show with his performances in the Under-19 World Cup, which accelerated his first-class career when he made his Maharashtra debut. He is eager to pick up new skills from KL Rahul and Justin Langer as he prepares to join the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL in 2024.

Royals of Rajasthan’s Riyan Parag

In the IPL, Parag is no longer a household name. The Assam all-rounder, who has been an essential member of the Rajasthan Royals squad, will enter the season riding high after showcasing excellent form in the league. At the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Tournament, he scored the most with 510 runs and seven half-centuries in ten games. The 22-year-old even got a few hundred and fifty in the just finished Ranji Trophy.

Suyash Sharma of the Knight Riders of Kolkata

The KKR leg spinner will be eager to impress in the next season, particularly after an outstanding domestic campaign. He took 10 wickets in 11 matches, making him one of the IPL 2023 discoveries. He finished the season as the second-highest wicket-taker for Delhi after taking 18 wickets in 7 matches later in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2023.

Mohsin Khan of the Super Giants of Lucknow

Mohsin, the left-arm pacer for LSG, is an essential part of the team’s pace battery. In nine matches since his debut in the 2022 edition, he has claimed 14 wickets. He wasn’t all that good the previous season, but he turned things around by dominating the local circuit and taking 11 wickets for UP in SMAT 2023.

Yash Dayal of Bangalore’s Royal Challengers

The fans are familiar with him as the bowler that Rinku Singh hit five sixes against during the 2023 Indian Premier League. However, he would want to start again under RCB’s guidance. One of Uttar Pradesh’s best bowlers, the left-arm pacer is expected to be a key member of Bengaluru’s team in the next campaign.

Punjab Kings’ Shashank Singh

With little IPL experience, powerful hitter Shashank Singh is a valuable addition. Under Shikhar Dhawan’s direction, he will continue to represent the Delhi Daredevils (now the Delhi Capitals) and the SRH. He has 69 runs in 10 games that he has participated in so far.

Gujarat Titans’ Robin Minz

For Rs 3.06 crore, the Gujarat Titans acquired wicketkeeper-batter Robin Minz, the first Jharkhand tribal player in cricket. Known for his aggressive style, he recently led his state to a scorching double hundred in the Colonel CK Nayudu Trophy. However, he was involved in a minor bike accident before the 2024 Indian Premier League, and if stories are to be believed, he may miss the season. However, the franchise has not yet provided an official statement on the matter.
