Andy Murray’s injury in Miami caused him to miss the Munich Open and Monte Carlo

The three-time Grand Slam winner Andy Murray’s management team stated on Friday that he would miss the forthcoming clay-court competitions in Munich and Monte Carlo. Murray currently has no timeline for his ankle injury recovery.

During a match on Sunday at the Miami Open, 36-year-old Murray tore ligaments in his left ankle. He declared the following day that he would be out “for an extended period of time.”

According to his management team’s statement on Friday, “At this point, it is still unclear how long Andy will be out of action, and he is continuing to review options with his medical team.”

“Obviously, Andy is extremely disappointed by this news, and he has expressed his desire to return to the court as soon as possible.”

In the latter part of the third set against Tomas Machac, the former world No. 1 twisted his ankle while approaching the net. Murray was defeated 5-7, 7-5, 7-6 (5) at the match’s conclusion.

The BMW Open in Munich takes place the week after the start of the Monte Carlo Masters on April 7.

Murray has expressed his doubts about playing beyond this summer, although he had been hoping to represent Britain at the Olympics in Paris one more time.
