Anurag Thakur opens the hockey artificial turf pitch at the BSF headquarters

Anurag Thakur, the Union Sports Minister, debuted a state-of-the-art hockey astroturf at the BSF headquarters in Jalandhar on Monday.

Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s direction, Thakur underscored the government’s dedication to promote sports in India at the time.


“Sports are a catalyst for holistic development, and the government of India is fully committed to providing the necessary infrastructure and opportunities for our talented athletes,” according to an official announcement citing Thakur.

This artificial grass debut represents our commitment to advancing sports and developing the enormous potential of our athletic community.

According to Thakur, Hockey India gave the newly built stadium the essential permissions, guaranteeing that it complies with international standards.

He also spoke about Punjab’s great athletic history, which produced many outstanding athletes and made a big contribution to India’s sporting heritage.

He also praised the Border Security Force for its accomplishments, praising it for its dedication to fostering talent and encouraging sports.

He spoke about the government’s flagship initiative, Khelo India, and its ongoing initiatives to support and develop sports talent across the nation.

According to the press release, the cutting-edge astro turf facility will act as a centre for ambitious athletes in the area. It was built using cutting-edge technology and in accordance with international standards, and it cost around Rs 6 crore to finish.

They will have access to top-notch training facilities, and it will draw regional, national, and worldwide competitions.
