At the Spain Masters, Sindhu had a victorious start

Madrid: Today, double Olympic winner PV Sindhu defeated Canada’s Wen Yu Zhang in straight games to go to the Madrid Spain Masters second round. In a lopsided match, Sindhu, the runner-up in the previous tournament, defeated world No. 49 Zhang 21-16, 21-12.

Apologies for abandoning camp, shooter; returning to Olympic trials

After apologising for his disciplinary infraction, a pistol shooter who departed the training camp for the Asia Olympic Qualifiers in December of last year without telling the national federation has been chosen for the trials to choose the Paris Games team. Competing in the 25-meter rapid-fire event, Bhavesh Shekhawat departed the camp on December 29 and was not heard from again until January 4 of this year.

Lausanne Sreejesh was chosen to serve as the FIH Athletes Committee co-chair.

Two players were named co-chairs of the new FIH Athletes Committee: Chilean women’s team defender Camila Caram and goalkeeper PR Sreejesh of India. Sreejesh expressed his excitement about working with Camila and the other committee members to improve hockey players.
