Australia is wary about the Indian bowling lineup for the World Cup final

Australia anticipates that India’s starting XI in the World Test Championship final would include Ravindra Jadeja, but they are doubtful about Ravichandran Ashwin’s involvement in the high-profile match, which will be contested at The Oval beginning on June 7.

In the most recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, India used three spinners, and both Ashwin (25 wickets) and Jadeja (22) shone well to assist their team earn a 2-1 series triumph.

The team management had a lot of talk regarding India’s likely bowling assault, assistant coach Daniel Vettori told the local media on Thursday before Australia’s training session at the Kent County Cricket Ground in Beckenham.

We have discussed it, said Vettori.

Because of his batting and his track record of success in the No. 6 slot, I believe Jadeja will play.

The fourth seamer and the all-rounder in (Shardul) Thakur and Ashwin will then be in doubt, but they are (both) quite solid options.

Despite having a respectable record in England, Vettori believes Ashwin may just miss out on a berth in the starting XI due to squad composition.

The seasoned off-spinner has played only one Test at The Oval but has taken 18 wickets overall from seven matches in England at an average of 28.11.

“Ashwin is an incredible bowler and will be first choice in most teams, but just with their combinations it may lead to that (him missing selection),” Vettori said.

“We anticipate The Oval to act as it normally does.

“It is a good wicket, but as the game goes on, it can offer a lot to the spinners.”

After his outstanding performance in the just finished IPL, Vettori also anticipates that Cameron Green will play a significant role in the WTC final.

“Any cricket now is training. Green is working behind the scenes to ensure that his bowling loads are up and that he is truly prepared for Test cricket, according to Vettori.

We see it as positive if you participate in high-intensity, high-class cricket because it shows that you are playing the game.

“The hardest thing for guys is coming out of nothing. That might be a challenge for a couple of guys who have had an extended break and how they get up to speed as quickly as possible,” he said.

“With Cameron, I believe he will be alright since he has played so much cricket. It’s wonderful to see him again. He contributes so much to the squad, played well for us in the series in India, and just finished the IPL.
