In the IPL, Virat Kohli surpasses 1,000 runs against the Chennai Super Kings

NEW DELHI: On Friday, in the IPL 2024 season opening in Chennai, star Bengaluru Royal Challengers batsman Virat Kohli achieved a noteworthy milestone as he passed 1,000 runs against the Chennai Super Kings.

At a strike rate of 105, Kohli scored 21 runs off 20 balls, including a six, despite having a rather quiet innings with the bat.
With this accomplishment, Kohli’s total for RCB versus CSK stands at 1,006 runs in 32 games, with an average of 37.25.

He has scored nine half-centuries in these innings, his best being an undefeated ninety.
Although Kohli’s record against CSK is amazing, Delhi Capitals’ (DC) David Warner holds the record for the most runs scored by a batter against a single opponent with 1,105 runs against the Punjab Kings.

Warner’s supremacy is not limited to just one squad; he has amassed 1,075 runs at an astonishing average of 44.79 and a striking percentage of 145 against the two-time champion Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Warner has amassed two hundred and six half-centuries in this total, his best score coming against KKR at 126.
Not to be outdone, Kohli has shown his batting ability against other teams as well. Specifically, he has scored 1,030 runs at an exceptional average of 51.50 against the Delhi Capitals.
He has scored ten half-centuries in these innings, with 99 being his best mark. Kohli’s runs against the Delhi Capitals have come at a fast strike rate of more than 133, demonstrating his power and dependability in the IPL against a variety of opponents.
