In the last Super 4 match of the 2023 Asia Cup, India wins the toss and chooses to field against Bangladesh

At the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on Friday, India won the toss against Bangladesh and elected to bowl first against the Bangla Tigers.

Rohit Sharma won the coin toss and decided to field first against Shakib Al Hasan’s team.

On Friday, Team India will play Bangladesh in the last Super 4 match of the current Asia Cup 2023 competition in Sri Lanka.

Given that the men in blue have already guaranteed their position in the tournament’s final with two straight victories in their two previous Super 4 matches against Pakistan and hosts Sri Lanka, the fortunes and aspirations of the sides will be drastically different.

In a record-breaking victory against their arch-rival, India defeated Pakistan by a staggering 22 runs thanks to centuries from KL Rahul and Virat Kohli, the former Indian captain who is now the team’s wicketkeeper, and the latter, who is still undefeated with 122 and 111 runs, respectively.

Then, India recorded a victory against Sri Lanka, defeating the hosts by a score of 41 runs to clinch their berth in the championship game.

On the other side, Bangladesh just has dignity to play for since they are no longer in the running to compete for the coveted continental trophy in the summit match after suffering two losses in their prior matches against Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

The Bangla Tigers lost to Pakistan with 63 balls remaining and 7 wickets remaining before falling to Sri Lanka by a score of 21 runs.

Team India will want to overcome Bangladesh and remain unbeaten in the competition going into the championship match despite having already qualified for the summit match.
