IPL 2024: Justin Langer and Jonty Rhodes offer prayers before of their first match, while LSG’s Keshav Maharaj visits the Ram Temple in Ayodhya | Watch

Before their first game in the Indian Premier League (2024), the Lucknow Super Giants made the decision to go to Ayodhya to offer prayers and get blessings at the Ram temple.

LSG will play their first game of the 2024 Indian Premier League against the Rajasthan Royals on Sunday, March 24, while the first game of the league between the Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore takes place on March 22.

The LSG squad, led by their head coach, took time out of their hectic schedule to show devotion in the calm surroundings of the Ram temple.

The most well-known guest was South African spinner Keshav Maharaj, who often shares his spiritual relationship with God and is a devoted follower of Lord Rama.

In a video that LSG released, players, coach Langer, and fielding coach Jonty Rhodes can be seen being enthralled by the site during their tour to the well-known Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

After the visit, he shared his deep feelings, saying, “I felt a wave of energy wash over me as soon as I walked inside the Ram temple. It is a privilege to visit the Lord’s birthplace and ask for his heavenly blessings as a devotee of Lord Ram. I’m really grateful for this chance.

“The team is excited about this journey of spiritual enrichment,” Langer said, expressing his excitement about the rare visit. By requesting blessings from Ram Lalla, we have regained our optimism and strength to tackle the next obstacles.

Prior to reporting for camp, LSG captain KL Rahul also made a visit to the Mahakaleshwar temple, which is situated in the Ujjain area of Madhya Pradesh.

Maharaj had expressed his enthusiasm and want to visit the temple as soon as possible, but this was his first time there.

“Jai Shree Raam, blessing to everyone” is the message he wrote on a picture he posted on Instagram, which shows him visiting Ram Mandir.

LSG will participate in four matches in the first phase of the IPL 2024 calendar, which was released by the BCCI. Two of the matches will be played at home, while the other two will be away.

Following their match against Rajasthan, LSG will play on March 30, April 2, and April 7 against the Punjab Kings, Gujarat Titans, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, respectively.
