“Worst Fielding Team”: A viral video featuring the Pakistani cricket team

The Pakistan cricket team’s ongoing fielding problems have overshadowed the strength of their outstanding fast bowlers. This is an area of the game where the team has failed to be consistent even in the face of severe criticism.

The problem has never been ignored as social media users often make fun of the team’s poor fielding, particularly focusing on former cricket player Inzamam-ul-Haq. Videos of bad fielding have been extensively circulated, showcasing previous incidents as well as current ones.

Recently, there has been a renewed focus on a film that shows the hardships that Pakistan’s cricket team faces on the pitch. The video shows a variety of mishaps, from players falling close to the boundary line to missed stumping and runout possibilities. Due to its rapid viral growth, the film has brought attention to the team’s ongoing fielding difficulties.

An X account purporting to be that of English cricket umpire Richard Kettleborough has uploaded the footage. The caption accompanying it says, “Pakistan, Maybe the Worst Fielding Team of this Decade.”

In less than a day after it was posted, the video—which has become incredibly popular on social media—had around 3 lakh views. Many social media users thought the video was entertaining after seeing it, which prompted humorous comments on the post.

“This is just excessive. A user said, “I mean, why do all Pakistani players keep doing stuff like this?”

“Pakistan’s fielding coach is the most useless person in the world,” another commenter said.

It’s a century, not just a decade. A third commenter said, “A 5-minute video is too short; maybe a show like Game of Thrones seems too short in comparison to their performance.
