Joan Laporta, the president of Barcelona, expressed her desire for Xavi to stay, saying, “I’d Really Like For Him To Stay.”

It seems like Xavi Hernandez has discovered a little bit of fresh life at Barcelona, despite all the contrasts and setbacks early in the season.

And it seems that his efforts have not gone unappreciated, as Barcelona president Joan Laporta publicly expressed his desire for the former midfield player to change his mind and maybe remain with the team.

“Xavi is adamant that he won’t change his mind and that he will depart in June, but we’ll see.”

“I really, really, really hope Xavi decides to change his mind and continue managing Barça.”

“I won’t hold Xavi under duress. He understands that I want him to remain here, so it relies on him. We’ll find out at the conclusion of the season,” Laporta said to Mundo Deportivo.

“Next season, it’s entirely up to Xavi, but I still hope to keep him.”

Xavi said in January that he would leave his position as Barcelona’s head coach at the conclusion of the current campaign.

“I’ll pack my bags and leave the day my players stop following me,” Xavi said to reporters.

“I wouldn’t be here if I hadn’t won La Liga the previous season.”

“I’ll leave if someone informs me there’s an issue.

“This club is amazing. I’m here to contribute in some way. “I’m going home if I don’t do it,” the former Barcelona captain said.

The Catalans’ poor defensive performance this year stands in sharp contrast to their Liga triumph the previous season.

However, after a very disappointing start to the season, Barcelona has lately found success, winning four of their past five La Liga games and drawing the other.

Due to Girona’s collapse as well, Barcelona has surpassed them in the standings and is now in second place, eight points behind Real Madrid, their bitterest rivals.

The Catalans also persevered against a formidable Napoli team to go to the quarterfinals, where they will take on PSG, the reigning French champions.
