Nathan Lyon is not pleased with Cricket Australia’s decision to end his County tenure, saying, “Definitely not my call.”

Nathan Lyon, an off-spinner for Australia, is not happy with Cricket Australia. When he joined Lancashire for the summer, the board decided to shorten his planned county term to only seven games. Only Lyon, an Australian cricketer, takes advantage of the time off to participate in the county season. Since Australia’s Test squad is unlikely to play until November, when India is slated to travel to Australia, the spin bowler was really intending to play for Lancashire for the remainder of the season, including the T20 Blast.

Lyon is upset since he was looking forward to playing for Lancashire, but CA has limited his county tenure to seven matches in order to manage his workload. Indeed, it’s certainly not my call. That is the beast’s nature. It’s a business now, and Cricket Australia has made it clear that they want to manage me in the hopes of extending my playing career for the foreseeable future—possibly for another three or four years.

“It’s upsetting since I was really looking forward to playing T20 cricket when I joined here and wanted to play every game. But my options are limited, so that is what it is,” Lyon remarked in an interview with BBC Radio Lancashire. James Anderson, a seasoned fast bowler, and Lyon have a good chance of working together at Lancashire during the County Championship, and Lyon is eager to share a dressing room. Whether Anderson will be ready for the first game is still unknown, since he is presently recuperating from a taxing visit to India.

“That would be very incredible. If I didn’t say that the opportunity’s arrival had a significant role in my decision to sign, I would be dishonest. He is among the best fast bowlers to have ever played the game, if not the best. I’ve engaged in some amazing combat with him. I applaud his abilities and all he has done for English cricket, as well as for international cricket in general, motivating young boys and girls to play the game.

“If the opportunity comes around that I get to bowl in tandem with him and share a changing room with him, it will be pretty special, so I’m looking forward to that,” Lyon said.
