The Rajasthan Royals designate Adam Zampa as Robin Minz’s successor, while the Gujarat Titans announce his replacement

Karnataka’s wicketkeeper-batter, BR Sharath, has joined the Gujarat Titans to replace Robin Minz, who was involved in a bike accident lately. Tanush Kotian, a right-arm off-break bowler from Mumbai, has been picked by the Rajasthan Royals to take Adam Zampa’s position, who withdrew from the season for personal reasons.
Notably, Robin was hospitalised at a Ranchi hospital with minor injuries sustained in a bike collision. When Robin’s father, Francis, was contacted by the news agency PTI to inquire about his son, he said that the event was not significant.

Indeed. He’s all right. It’s nothing terrible, just some small bruising. Francis, a security guard at the Ranchi airport, told PTI that he is recuperating well.

But Ashish Nehra, the bowling coach for the Titans, had already made hints that Robin wasn’t expected to play in the lucrative competition this year.

“Robin Minz is not 100% sure that he will participate in the IPL this year, although it is doubtful. He’s being watched. We’ll see how it goes in another two weeks, or maybe sooner,” Nehra had said.

The 2022 IPL champs, who have already lost the services of their great bowler Mohammed Shami, may suffer from Minz’s injury. After successfully repairing his Achilles tendon on February 26, Shami will miss the whole season due to the injury.

Sharath was hired by the Titans for a sum of INR 20 lakh. With only 28 T20 matches under his belt, 27-year-old Sharath has amassed 328 runs at a strike rate of 118.84 and one fifty.

However, Kotian, who joined the Rajasthan Royals in lieu of Zampa, too lacks T20 experience. In his playing career, Kotian has participated in 23 Twenty20 matches and taken 24 wickets at an economy rate of 6.07.
