23 stab wounds have been inflicted on Budaun children: autopsy report

Aayush received 14 blows from Sajid, the barber who murdered two little children in Budaun on Tuesday, while his younger brother Ahaan received nine.

Their postmortem report said that the two brothers had a total of 23 stab wounds.

Both Aayush (11), and Ahaan (6) were stabbed repeatedly on their back, chest, and legs with a sharp object after being assaulted on the neck.

The injuries on their legs indicate, according the post-mortem report, that the kids could have tried to flee but were attacked by the assailant instead.

According to the authorities, Sajid owned a barbershop just across from the victims’ home and was a well-known figure in the community. Sajid, who is well-known to Vinod Singh, the father of the children, came to their home pretending to be in need of a Rs 5,000 loan. But as their mother was getting tea ready for him, Sajid attacked the kids viciously only seconds after receiving the money.

According to reports, Sajid requested Aayush to accompany him upstairs to his mother’s beauty parlor. When they got to the second floor, Sajid turned off the lights and proceeded to take a knife to Aayush. Ahaan, Sajid’s younger brother, came into the room as he was slashing Aayush’s neck. Then, Sajid seized Ahaan and gave him many knife wounds. He then turned his attention to Piyush, their second brother, but Piyush was able to flee with just minor injuries.

After the slaughter, Sajid left the scene with his brother Javed, who was supposedly waiting outside the home on a motorbike.

Police said that once Sajid was apprehended, he opened fire on them and was fatally shot. Additionally shot was a police officer, who is now hospitalized.

Vinod Singh, the father of the children, has urged the police to hold off on using encounters too quickly and has demanded a comprehensive inquiry into the circumstances behind the killings.

The primary accused Sajid’s brother, Javed, was taken into custody on Thursday in the Bareilly district. He first responded by saying that he had run because he was afraid for his life. He said that he was ignorant of his brother’s transgression.
