51 Inches Tall, 1.5 Tons in Weight, and “Has the Innocence of a Child” | Ram Lalla Idol at Ram Mandir Description

Lord Ram’s idol is 51 inches tall, weighs 1.5 tons, and exudes childlike purity. Sunlight will illuminate the idol’s forehead at noon on Ramnavmi every year, according to Champat Rai, general secretary of the Ram Temple Trust.

The statue will be placed in the sanctum sanctorum on January 18 and will be worshipped beginning on January 16. “Achaman, water, and milk will not harm the idol,” he said.

Rai continued, “On the advice of distinguished Indian space scientists, the length of Lord Shri Ram’s idol and the height of its installation have been designed in such a way that every year on Ram Navami, the ninth date of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month, Lord Surya himself will anoint Shri Ram as sunrays will directly fall on his forehead at 12 noon making it shine.”

According to Champat Rai, three sculptors worked independently to create the idol of Lord Shri Ram. Of them, one statue weighing 1.5 tons and measuring 51 inches from the foot to the forehead was selected.

He described the softness of the dark-colored stone idol, saying that it had the innocence of a five-year-old kid together with the divinity of Lord Vishnu and the splendor of a royal son. The selection of the idol was based on several factors such as facial softness, smile, body language, and eye appearance. He said that the 51-inch-tall statue’s head, crown, and aura were all expertly created.

Champat Rai said that the idol’s consecration ceremony will begin on January 16. In addition, Lord Ram will take the seat in the sanctum sanctorum on January 18.

He went on to say that one of the idol’s peculiarities is that milk and water have no negative effects on the stone. Furthermore, he said that drinking such milk or water will not have any negative consequences on the body.

Within the Ram Temple complex, he said, there would be temples dedicated to Maharishi Valmiki, Maharishi Vashishtha, Maharishi Vishwamitra, Maharishi Agastya, Nishad Raj, Mata Shabari, and Devi Ahilya. In addition, the idol of Jatayu is already situated here.

Construction experts claim that no similar temple has been constructed in North India in the previous 300 years, however Champat Rai said that the temple’s design was influenced by South Indian temples.

He went on to say that even if the stone is a millennium old, it will remain unaffected by sunshine, wind, or water since granite has been placed underneath to stop moisture absorption. Since iron weakens idols, it has also not been utilized in their construction. Its design calls for the formation of a very strong rock under the surface as ages grow. Since concrete has a maximum age of 150 years, no kind of concrete has been utilized above ground. Every task is completed with consideration for age,” he said.

VISITORS ARE URGEED TO GO AFTER JANUARY 26
According to Champat Rai, August 15, 1947 and January 22, 2024 are equally significant dates in his life. He urged everyone to commemorate January 22 by doing great pujas in five lakh temples nationwide. “Every Sanatani should light at least five lamps outside his house in the evening.”

He advised visitors to avoid visiting the shrine until after January 26. He promised that even at midnight, the temple’s doors would stay open till everyone had received darshan.
