Hospitalized when a man in Mumbai discovers a dead rat in his vegetarian supper

In an unexpected turn of events, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh resident Rajeev Shukla has described a traumatic encounter with a meal he bought from a popular Mumbai restaurant chain. Shukla complained about the tragic situation and sought reparation on social networking site X, which was previously Twitter.

On January 8, 2024, Shukla traveled to Mumbai and reportedly purchased a vegetarian dinner box from the Barbeque Nation location in Worli. He revealed, in a disturbing way, that he had spent “75 plus hours” in the hospital after finding a dead mouse in the meal. Shukla had shared the event on social media, but at the time of his post, he had not yet officially complained to the Nagpada police station.

Images of the delivered shipment, the order receipt, and the purported contamination were sent with his tweet. He also uploaded a photo of himself in a hospital bed, which clarified how serious the issue was.

The event has received a lot of attention online, with many X users tagging different officials in an attempt to help Shukla. In response to the uproar, Barbeque Nation said it regretted any trouble it may have caused. According to their statement, Shukla was already in touch with Mr. Paresh from their Mumbai Regional Office, who was trying to ascertain the specifics of the matter and find a solution. They reaffirmed their pledge to swiftly and successfully handle the issues Shukla brought up.

Shukla claimed to have had food illness and was admitted to Nair Hospital as a consequence of cockroaches, according to a story published in The Free Press Journal. The report also said that Shukla formally filed a complaint about the shady occurrence with Barbeque Nation via email.
