Nurses ‘Sick Baby Hedgehog’ All Night Long Only To Discover It Was A Hat Bobble

Everybody has misidentified something as something else at least once in their life. However, it only takes us a few seconds to realize we are in error. However, a kind animal lover spent the whole night tending to what she thought was a sick baby hedgehog before realizing it was really a hat bobble. When the old lady in England saw what she believed to be an abandoned animal on the side of a road, she took swift action.

It had been given cat food, but the concerned animal lover saw that it hadn’t moved or pooped all night. The stranger spent many hours caring for the fluffy object before bringing it to Lower Moss Wood Nature Reserve and Wildlife Hospital on Thursday morning in Cheshire. She awaited the veterinarian’s arrival back in the foyer before announcing, “It’s a hat bobble, not a hedgehog.”

The elderly woman was described to The Independent by Janet Kotze, the veterinarian on that shift, as “an older lady, maybe sixties or seventies, well-spoken and well-meaning.”

The elderly woman had reported seeing what seemed to be a hedgehog at the side of the road, Dr. Kotze said.

She said that the kind lady treated it incorrectly, just putting it into a box with cat food and placing it in a warm, dark place. She didn’t want to “stress it out,” so she didn’t give it any attention.

Upon opening the package, Dr. Kotze realized it wasn’t a hedgehog. She admitted to the news outlet that while it was “pretty obvious” to them, they could also see why she was wrong.

The veterinarian apologized, saying, “It’s just a bobble,” as he turned to go.

The woman said, “You’re kidding! How on earth did I do it, oh my goodness?

The 57-year-old said that in her five years here, she had “never seen like it.”

Dr. Kotze claims that the animal lover seemed ashamed as she left the hospital with her box and bobble.

She was so charming. “God bless her, her heart was right,” Dr. Kotze said.

The woman made a mistake, according to the hospital administration, by not focusing closely enough on the hat adornment.

The Lower Moss Wood Nature Reserve & Wildlife Hospital shared a heartwarming tale on Facebook over the weekend, mentioning how the team was touched by the woman’s very compassionate disposition.

Dr. Kotze advised other animal enthusiasts to follow the woman’s example and rescue a real hedgehog if they see it moving during the day, as this is a sign that it is in danger.
