Police file a complaint when a woman discovers eight cockroaches in a dosa at a Delhi restaurant

A startling occurrence happened to a lady at the Madras Coffee House in Connaught Place, New Delhi. Instagram user Ishani posted a video of herself on March 7th, while eating a simple dosa that she had ordered. The revelation was disconcerting. She was horrified to see eight cockroaches within the dosa, not just one or two.

Ishani detailed the upsetting incident in an Instagram post, calling it “not a heart-wrenching truth, but a gut-wrenching one.” She described how she went to the restaurant with her buddy for dinner and placed an order for two dosas. Ishani felt something strange after a few bites and looked into it further, only to discover a cockroach in her dosa. When she looked more closely, she saw eight cockroaches lodged in the dosa.

Ishani immediately took action after learning about this concerning revelation, registering a report at a Delhi police station. She made it clear that she intended to alert authorities in the field of food sanitation and hygiene to the situation. Ishani said clearly in her message that she would not hold her peace until the eatery was held accountable. She further said that when the police questioned the eatery, they were unable to provide a proper license.

Ishani expressed shock that a well-known eatery could be so careless, especially on a busy day when they served around thirty customers each hour. She declared the kitchen to be dirty and unattractive, mentioning the bad smell and the fact that half of it was roofless. Her “right to safety, including food safety,” she said resolutely.

She wrote, “I am not the one in need of support here,” as her post’s conclusion. WE all are, so we don’t have to worry about the ingredients and can enjoy our food. This concerns fundamental hygiene and health, and we refuse to accept anything less than the best. Please assist me in bringing up this matter so that a businessman is aware of the people around him. Customers, not savings, are the focus.

Online viewers were drawn to the video, with one saying, “This is so bad! They really need to be held responsible! The comment “The restaurant should be closed” was made by another user.

Ishani expressed her worries in an interview with The Quint, saying, “This incident has raised a lot of questions about the license and operation of this cafe and left a bad taste in my mouth.” I will now always be cautious while placing an order at a restaurant. I’ll always question if they maintain a certain standard of cleanliness. Do the authorities visit the eateries on a regular basis to verify their licenses and degree of hygiene? Since such instances would not occur if they did,.

The Madras Coffee House’s manager, Anubhav Nanda, responded to the event by telling the site, “It is unfortunate that this incident occurred at our restaurant.” We are sorry for the mistakes and the inconvenience.
