BIHAR

A daily wage worker’s son will succeed Manjhi son as minister

The Bihar chief minister selected a fresh face inside the party to take Santosh Suman’s position within 24 hours of his resignation as a minister in the Nitish Kumar Cabinet. The grand alliance now only has six instead of seven members remaining for the governing party.

On Friday morning, Ratnesh Sada, a JDU MLA from Sonbarsha (Saharsa district), would take his oath of office as a new minister in the state government. He’ll probably get a portfolio for minority welfare.

Minister-designate Ratnesh Sada will take the oath on June 16 at 10.30 am at Rajbhavan’s Darbaar hall, according to a June 13 Rajbhavan notice.

On June 16, Ratnesh Sada will be sworn into office at Rajbhavan by Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar. The announcement states that just one minister will take the oath.

For the last 11 years, Sada has run for and won elections from the Sonbarsha (reserved) assembly seat on the JDU platform. Kandaha hamlet in the Mahishi block of the Saharsa district is the ancestral village of Sada.

According to JDU officials, Sada met with Nitish Kumar on Tuesday night after travelling from his constituency to Patna. Additionally, sources said that the swearing-in event will take place on Friday since the governor is not presently in Patna.

Despite being well-liked in his district, Sada is not well-known in Patna’s political community. Nevertheless, he is regarded as a dedicated JDU employee who hails from a lowly family.

“My father earns a daily income. He remarked in an empathetic tone, “I see Nitish ji as my mentor and protector.

In the meanwhile, rumours about Manjhi and his colleagues joining the NDA are rampant in political circles. He had just recently met Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, in Delhi.

Manjhi’s son Santosh Suman told reporters that he will visit different areas of the state to evaluate the situation on the ground. “We had previously visited Gaya, Munger, Darbhanga, and Purnia extensively. He said, “At the very least, we will be covering 15 constituencies before the elections,” but he made no promises about joining any party right away.

Deputy Chief Minister Tejshwi Prasad Yadav told reporters in response to his resignation from the party, “We always respected Manjhi ji and his party. We used our own quota to make his son, Santosh Suman, an MLC. Nobody can even claim that we didn’t treat them with respect. We have always given them the highest honours.

According to RCP Singh, the previous president of JDU, “JDU will not be getting any seat in the Lok Sabha election if it fails to merge into RJD before 2024.”

“Nitish Babu is in the habit of merging parties starting in 2020,” he said. The lone MLAs from LJP and BSP united into JDU.

In an apparent jab at the CM, he questioned, “What kind of seven-party alliance is working in Bihar when one of his partners had to leave the alliance.”
