On October 7, Uganda Airlines will launch nonstop flights to Mumbai

In a statement, Uganda Airlines announced the start of its operations in India. Beginning on October 7, they will begin operating a direct flight service between Mumbai, India, with the Ugandan city of Entebbe.

The three-class, wide-body Airbus A330-800 neo aircraft will be used for the three times per week service. There are 210 seats in economy, 20 in business class, and 28 in premium economy. In particular, the airline said that this would be the first direct flight link between India and Uganda in more than 50 years.

“We are thrilled to announce this, the newest addition to our network, which demonstrates how Uganda Airlines broadens the range of travel alternatives available to its customers. The airline’s chief commercial officer, Adedayo Olawuyi, expressed the hope that this route, in addition to being convenient, would revitalize the more than a century-old economic and commercial ties between India and Uganda.

Lenny Malasi, the airline’s country manager, said in an interview with Money Control that the airline is launching its new service with an initial price starting at $450, which is roughly equivalent to Rs. 37,000. The flight connects Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai with Entebbe International Airport in Uganda.

On October 7, the first flight UR 430 from Uganda is set to leave from Entebbe, and on October 8, the return flight UR 431 is scheduled to leave from Mumbai. In order to accommodate travellers who may desire to extend their journeys outside of Uganda, this timetable has been carefully crafted to smoothly interact with the existing network.

Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays will see Uganda Airlines flying flights from Entebbe to Mumbai, with Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays serving as return dates. Following its service to Dubai, Uganda Airlines now offers a direct connection between Entebbe and Mumbai. Additionally, it is the carrier’s thirteenth new location, with the bulk of its routes being regional.

Uganda Airlines is also now negotiating the launch of direct routes between Delhi and Chennai and Uganda in the next three months.

“We are in discussions with the relevant authorities, and approvals should take about three months,” Malasi said of the planned commencement of direct flights from Uganda to Delhi and Chennai.

Dubai, Johannesburg, Bujumbura, Nairobi, Mombasa, Zanzibar, Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro, Juba, Kinshasa, and Mogadishu are just a few of the places Uganda Airlines now provides air service.
