A chance to bat, anyone? Hit a six instead: Hinduja Sunny

Bollywood has a new perspective on Sunny Hinduja, the adored “Sandeep bhaiyya” from TVF’s Aspirants. The actor, who is known for playing more subdued parts, is often seen as the big-screen antagonist. He recently fought Sidharth Malhotra in Yodha and starred against Kartik Aaryan in the action comedy Shehzada from 2023. It was a movie about Dharma. He states, “It was the part of the major antagonist. “This is an offer I can’t possibly turn down.”

Taking on villainous roles

What is it about Sunny that gives the impression of a strong antagonist? Is it the hollows in his cheeks? His powerful build? Or are these positions only a means of participating, if only somewhat, in a bigger picture? “I’m willing to play any part that allows me to showcase my acting prowess. If my character has a graph and is trying to express something, that’s a terrific place to start,” Hinduja adds. “It’s okay if acting like villains to acquire job right now. Only the positions that are on offer are available for you to choose from. Naturally, I would also want to play leading parts.

It extends beyond Bollywood. Hinduja is getting ready to make his Malayalam debut in the horror-comedy Hello Mummy, where he will play an exorcist. He may not be a villain in this movie, but rather a complicated character. The actor responds with the typical “that’s all I can possibly share at the moment” when asked about storyline or character information, which comes across as a little cryptic.

He does, however, openly discuss his experience collaborating with a Malayalam film crew. “What caught my attention is that everyone here embodies humility and simplicity. They are always modest, even when there is a linguistic barrier between them and us, he claims. Did the job require him to learn Malayalam? “A little bit, but happily there wasn’t much Malayalam that I had to say in the movie.”

Make a claim to fame

Hinduja has played a wide range of roles in OTT, even when she wasn’t actively involved. He recently starred in The Railway Men as journalist Jagmohan Kumawat. As an intelligence agent in The Family Man, he gave his first noteworthy over-the-top performance.

However, it’s possible that the chain-smoking, introspective IAS candidate Sandeep Ohlan from Aspirants won him the greatest praise—so much so that he was given his own spinoff series.

Why was the character so contemporary? According to Hinduja, “everyone is a candidate in a sense.” When someone wants to accomplish anything, they must overcome obstacles like the ones Sandeep experienced. Competition, the need for diligence, and financial difficulties are all present.)

Is he playing on a separate field than someone who belongs to the fraternity, though? “People from movie families may be given a another opportunity or two or three. This is a very competitive sector. You had better hit a six if you go to bat.
