It is no longer just a pipe dream to live close to the renowned actor Amitabh Bachchan. But there’s a high cost associated with it. Juhu is a posh neighborhood in Mumbai where Big B’s well-known home, Jalsa, is situated. Deutsche Bank has now scheduled an auction for a house next to his Jalsa estate. The property has a reserve price of Rs 25 crore.

According to Money Control, which cited a public notice from Deutsche Bank, the property up for sale has 2,175 square feet of open space and 1,164 square feet of carpet. Together, the total size of the property is almost 3,000 square feet.
In accordance with the 2002 Securitization and Reconstruction of Financial Assets and Enforcement of Security Interest Act (SARFAESI), the bank is holding an auction for the bungalow.
According to the article, the bank also demanded repayment of the unpaid money from the borrowers and co-borrowers Seven Star Satellite Pvt Ltd and others in April 2022.
However, the bank has seized control of the property that is mortgaged with it since the borrowers and co-borrowers did not pay back the remaining balance of Rs 12.89 crore within the allotted 60 days.
The bungalow is now up for auction with a reserve price of Rs 25 crore and an EMD (earnest money deposit) of Rs 2.5 crore. The auction will take place on March 27, 2024.
For the uninitiated, one should not take the bank’s statement at face value while participating in an auction. The bank may not be able to assist you if someone makes a claim to your newly acquired property.
