‘Baby’ Co-Star Akshay Kumar According to Mikaal Zulfiqar, Bollywood exploits Pakistani actors

In an interview, Pakistani actor Mikaal Zulfiqar said that Bollywood takes advantage of Pakistani performers. He said that Pakistani actors are not often used as prominent roles by Indian directors. Mikaal collaborated with Naseeruddin Shah and Akshay Kumar on the films “Baby” and “Shoot on Sight.”

Mikaal said, “India jo hai hamesha advantage leta hai ek Pakistani actors ka” in an interview on The Knock Knock Show. How about you, tarah leta? Later on, woh apse aisa ek kaam kawayega jisme yeh dikhaya jayega ki yeh ek Pakistani actor aya hai, ya toh the role that you are given is such (India always exploits Pakistani actors, either by forcing you to do something that reveals you are a Pakistani or by portraying your role in such a way).

To be really honest, he said, “I don’t believe there are many outstanding parts that come to me right now; my career has been going well for the last 10 to 20 years. Usse pehle kya ho toh nahi pata. And the reason for it is that I don’t mind whether someone portrays me on equal footing with them or vice versa. Level playing fields pe hume khada karein is what we are due. It is not worthwhile to do only a supporting part, koi aisi cheeze karna jis se aapkta mazak yahan ude. So long as there is a fair playing field, everything else is acceptable here (although, based on my career, I believe Pakistani actors are not treated equally in Indian films). I’m content to be acting only in Pakistani movies and television series, even if it’s just in a supporting position and requires you to do anything that would be ridiculed there.
