Celebrate Bharat Ratna to PV Narasimha Rao and Chaudhary Charan Singh with Anil Kapoor, Anupam Kher, and Others

The Bharat Ratna will be given to agricultural scientist MS Swaminathan, former prime ministers PV Narasimha Rao and Chaudhary Charan Singh, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on X (formerly Twitter) on February 9. The significant declaration was made soon after the administration honored former Bihar Chief Minister Karpoori Thakur and seasoned BJP leader LK Advani. With five named this year—one more than the four in 1999—this is the most Bharat Ratna announced in a single year. Following the announcement, a number of Bollywood stars, including Anil Kapoor, Randeep Hooda, and Anupam Kher, praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for awarding these three eminent figures the Bharat Ratna.

“The government & Hon PM Shri @narendramodi ji, pays a fitting tribute to the unmatched leadership of Chaudhary Charan Singh through the Bharat Ratna recognition,” tweeted Anil Kapoor on his X (previously Twitter) page. His enduring legacy as a peasant defender continues to play a crucial role in shaping the agricultural policy and social climate of our country.

“PV Narasimha Rao, Chaudhary Charan Singh, and MS Swaminathan were all architects of modern India in their own right,” tweeted Randeep Hooda. It’s wonderful to see @PMOIndia honoring them with the highest honor, the #BharatRatna, in order to recognize their achievements and preserve them in the consciousness of the next generation. #BharatRatnaAward

“A great decision by the government under the leadership of Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi ji to honour the two former Prime Ministers with the #BharatRatna,” said Anupam Kher. #PVNarasimhaRao Ji and #ChoudharyCharanSingh ji are two imposing figures in our public life. They have made a significant contribution to the nation, and for that we will always be grateful. Jai Hind!

Lal Krishna Advani, a BJP stalwart and former deputy prime minister, received the Bharat Ratna award last week with “humility and gratitude” and said the mantra, “This life is not mine.” “My life is for my nation” served as his life’s inspiration.

He expressed his thanks to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya and Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the two people he had the “honour of working closely” with.

President Droupadi Murmu said earlier in January that former Bihar Chief Minister Karpoori will get a posthumous Bharat Ratna.

The Bharat Ratna was established in 1954 and is given to those who have shown extraordinary public service as well as excellence in any discipline, including science, literature, and the arts.
