I have had many failures in the past, and ‘Liger’ is not the first one, says Vijay Deverakonda

Vijay Deverakonda, whose forthcoming multilingual feature “Kushi” is getting a lot of positive feedback, has spoken up about the box office debacle of his Bollywood debut film “Liger.”

The actor said that ‘Liger’ is not his first failure and that he has had many failures earlier in his career, just as he has had numerous blockbuster movies, during the debut of the ‘Kushi’ trailer here on Wednesday.

The actor said to the press, “It hurts when a movie doesn’t succeed. ‘Liger’ is not the first failure I have had; I have had many. I’ve received a lot of hits in the past. I’ll keep having both successes and failures because ultimately, we’re trying to create stories.

As a creative person, he said, he wants to tell as many tales as he can, but doing so entails a great deal of danger. He still does it every time and gives it his best, however, despite the hazards.

“My lifestyle is to fully commit to something creative,” Vijay added. “My ambition is to pursue it constantly.”

Puri Jagannadh wrote and directed the sports action movie “Liger – Saala Crossbreed.” The movie, which was concurrently filmed in Hindi and Telugu, had Vijay Deverakonda as the stammering MMA fighter Liger, with Ananya Panday as his love interest.

Aside from Mike Tyson, who had an extended cameo, the movie also stars Ramya Krishna and Ronit Roy in significant roles.

When asked about the emotional effect of a film’s failure, the actor said that although it does hurt when the outcomes are not what was anticipated, he is unfazed by it.

“I have no fear of failing. When a film doesn’t work, it hurts, but it doesn’t stop me from trying again. I don’t mind stumbling, he said.

The movie “Kushi,” in which Samantha Ruth Prabhu plays Vijay’s love interest, will debut in theaters on September 1.
