In the 75th year, what has changed?
Additionally, on July 12 at 9 p.m. IST, the nominations for the 75th Emmy Awards will be broadcast live on Lionsgate Play’s YouTube page for the first time.

The Television Academy decided to modernise the classic trophy as the Emmy Awards commemorated their 75 distinguished years, paying homage to its enduring importance. The improved statuette honours the fields of art, history, and skill by taking inspiration from Halley’s Comet, which visits our planet once every 75 years.

Television Academy President and CEO Maury McIntyre stated of the announcement of the new trophy prior to the 75th Emmy Awards: “We were trying to find a way to celebrate the historic character of the milestone. Since it began 75 years ago, the Emmy Awards have been all about honouring achievement. No matter what century the greatest media on Earth has been in, those criteria haven’t actually altered much. We didn’t want to go too far with Emmy herself in that vein.
