Saira Banu Recollects Seeing Shah Rukh Khan for the First Time

Since Atlee’s pan-Indian spectacular Jawan opened in theaters, Shah Rukh Khan and his provocative performances have been hailed across the nation. Saira Banu, a former actress and Dilip Kumar’s wife, sent an emotional letter to Shah Rukh Khan, recounting some of her favorite memories of him, as the King of Bollywood continues to win praise.

Saira Banu posted a video of Shah Rukh Khan talking about Mughal-e-Azam and collecting an autograph from Dilip Kumar on Sunday. He gives the late, renowned actor a hug in the video. A photo of SRK, Saira Banu, and Dilip Kumar all together was also included in the slideshow. However, her touching caption was what got everyone’s attention. “The first time I saw Shahrukh was when many stars had gathered for a function,” she wrote. He seemed bashful and reluctant to approach me right away, and I observed that he reminded me so much of my Shahenshah Dilip Sahib.I said that my kid would have acted just like him if he had been there.

Shah Rukh Khan appeared in Saira Banu’s mind again as she recalled another vivid recollection of him, saying, “One vivid memory I have is of a chance meeting with Shahrukh, when he humbly bent before me, requesting blessings. I couldn’t help but notice how much his hair resembled Dilip Sahib’s as I ran my fingers through it and put my palm on his head. Since that time, everytime Shahrukh and I have crossed paths, he has humbly bowed his head to receive my blessings. It’s interesting how when I once neglected to do it, Shahrukh bent his head and said, “Aaj Aapne Mere Baalon Par Hath Nahin Phera,” and without thinking, I tenderly finished our ritual by gently running my fingers through his hair.

Shahrukh Khan is a fantastic performer as well as a really kind, refined, and compassionate person, she said. He would routinely honor us by being present at different events held at our home. When my organization once had a big event, I really wanted Shahrukh to do an interview. Shahrukh’s demanding work schedule, nevertheless, seemed to be almost impossible. Nevertheless, with just one text message from me, I was shocked to see him at my door within an hour, ready to help.

Shah Rukh Khan showed there as her “beacon” on the day when Dilip Kumar lost consciousness, according to Saira Banu. “On July 7th, when Dilip Sahib fell asleep and stopped responding to my voice, leaving me to carry the pain of his absence, Shahrukh appeared as a ray of hope. His admiration for Dilip Sahib, the “Kohinoor of Hindustan,” flashed strongly at that very time as he was among the first to provide his consoling presence in the face of difficulty. The fact that Shahrukh came to our house to have Sahib sign the “Mughal-e-Azam” poster, which I assume is preserved in Sahib’s private theater, tells volumes about how much he admires Sahib. It displays his ardent admiration and regard for the legendary filmmakers who came before him.

Saira Banu decided to give up acting in 1976 after working on a number of successful blockbuster films with her husband Dilip Kumar, including Gopi, Duniya, Sagina, and Bairaag. Saira Banu astonished her admirers earlier this year by becoming the second Indian celebrity to use Instagram after Zeenat Aman.
