Salman Khan’s worst film—not Race 3, Tubelight, or Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan—was never released in theaters and lost Rs 72 crore

Salman Khan, one of the most well-liked and influential performers in Hindi film history, is a true superstar. Over the course of three decades, the actor has delivered hit after smash. However, his tremendous filmography also includes a few failures. The actor has been in many movies over the years, but not all of them have been very successful at the box office or in terms of quality. The worst of them were never shown in Indian theaters.

What is Salman Khan’s worst movie?

With a poor rating of little around ten thousand, Radhe (also titled Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai) is the film that Salman Khan has never done better than. The movie has a poor rating of 1.9 out of 10. It has received only one favorable review out of eleven on the review aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes, giving it a 9% rating. It goes without saying that this is a movie you would like to forget. Although Salman Khan has starred in several highly criticized movies, none of them have received as low of a rating as this one. For example, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is rated at 4.1 on IMDb, whereas Race 3 is ranked at 2. Tubelight is rated somewhat higher at 3.9.

Why Radhe was never shown in theaters

With Prabhu Deva directing, Radhe was supposed to be released on May 22, 2020, which was Eid 2020. Production started in 2019. However, the movie’s release was originally postponed indefinitely before being moved to streaming services when the Covid-19 epidemic struck and theaters were closed. In May 2021, Radhe was finally made available on OTT (Zee5). It did have a limited theatrical distribution abroad.

Radhe’s miserable box office showing

Owing to its restricted international distribution, Radhe was never going to make a profit in the theater. Only Rs 18 crore were finally made by the movie at the box office, all of which came from overseas. Based on box office receipts, the film recorded a loss of Rs 72 crore, considering its Rs 90-crore expenditure. Fortunately, the movie was able to recoup this expense via its TV, music, and digital rights. Even if the movie received watching minutes on Zee5, it was nonetheless a severe flop.
