Teaser for “Scam 2003: The Telgi Story”: Bigger Scam, Harsher Dialogues

The series is preparing to return with its new season after ‘Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story’ had such a positive reception, and the trailer for it was released on Friday. Manoj Bajpayee’s voice-over introduces the teaser, which then flashes back to a previous season that focused on the Rs 5000 crore Indian stock market scandal of 1992.

The second season’s narrative will center on the Rs30,000 crore fraud perpetrated by fruit vendor Abdul Karim Telgi. A convicted Indian counterfeiter named Telgi began his career by creating phony passports.

He subsequently created a firm and launched a business to export labor to Saudi Arabia. He used to make various fictitious papers for this purpose, allowing laborers to pass through airport security without incident even though their passports were stamped with the emigration check requirement or had other problems that may have raised suspicion in the eyes of immigration officers.

When he started to counterfeit stamp paper, Telgi advanced to more complicated forgery. He hired 300 individuals to work as agents who distributed the counterfeit goods to large-scale buyers including banks, insurance corporations, and stock trading houses.

The sentence “Paisa kamaya nahi banaya jaata hai” from the teaser has the potential to become a meme. The main character’s face hasn’t been seen, however, throughout the whole duration of the teaser.

Achint Thakkar, who previously created the music for the streaming movie “Monica, O My Darling,” returned to provide the season’s recognizable score for season two. Gagan Dev Rirar plays Abdul Karim Telgi in the show’s title role.

Hansal Mehta is the showrunner and Tushar Hiranandani is the director of “Scam 2003: The Telgi Story.” In collaboration with Studio Next, Applause Entertainment produces the television show.

Starting on September 2, viewers will be able to watch the series on Sony LIV.
