The actor with the longest cinema career is neither Amitabh Bachchan, Raj Kapoor, Kamal Haasan, or Rajinikanth; instead, meet this guy

Shah Rukh Khan comes to mind when we discuss the best romantic hero in Bollywood. Salman Khan is the epitome of elegance, and Akshay Kumar is the person who immediately comes to mind when discussing an actor who has made the most movies in a single year. Even after 30 years in the business, these performers haven’t been able to surpass the mark established by one superstar who dominated Bollywood in the black-and-white period. No other actor in the business has surpassed the mark this actor has set in the Guinness Book. Today, we are discussing none other than P Jairaj, the actor.

It’s common for people to make assumptions about how long an actor has been in the movie business. However, P Jairaj was so successful that he worked in the motion picture business for an astounding 70 years. Actor P Jairaj, also known as Paidi Jairaj, began his career in 1929 and has acted for 70 years. Over the course of his career, he has appeared in over 300 films.

Character roles have made P Jairaj more well-known than starring parts. As the person with the longest Bollywood career, he is also included in the Guinness World Records.

P Jairaj was born in 1909 in Sircilla, Hyderabad State (now Telangana). He moved to Bombay in 1929, having shown an early interest in theater. ‘Star Kling Youth’, a silent picture, marked his acting debut that same year. He appeared in around 11 silent films over his career.

For his services to Indian cinema, he received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1980—the country’s top honor for motion pictures.

In 1940, P Jairaj wed Savitri, a Punjabi lady from Delhi. The father of Prithviraj Kapoor arranged the marriage. He has three daughters and two boys. A year before him, he lost his wife to cancer. The son of his daughter is TV producer-director Rajan Shahi.
